Tomorrow (Friday 17th May) Carlisle Advice Services centre on Lowther Street will be hosting a Young People’s Surgery with local Member of Parliament, John Stevenson. The surgery will start at 2pm. The centre is run by Inspira, the leading youth work and careers guidance organisation in Cumbria.
Young people have the opportunity to talk directly to the MP about issues that are important to them. The surgery offers dedicated one-to-one fifteen minute appointments to speak to John about whichever issues or problems they are most concerned about.
Previous surgeries have proved extremely popular and raised issues such as transport costs for young people, benefits for young parents, funding for education and apprenticeships, policing presence, and the environment.
