Cumbria leading the way in education and training performance

A recent study has revealed that Cumbria is exceeding the regional and national average of young people in education and training. Data released by the Department for Education (DfE) shows that out of the 11,180 young people between 16-17 in Cumbria, 92.3 per cent are participating in education and training compared to 89.8 per cent in England and 90.9 per cent in the North West.

Mark Bowman, Chief Executive of Inspira says: “We are pleased that the number of young people participating in education and training is increasing. Helping young people be more work ready is crucial for the local economy and we are delighted to have worked with Cumbria County Council to help reduce youth unemployment.”
