The Role

We have an opportunity for an individual with a background in Careers Information, Advice & Guidance to join our friendly and hard working team in Barrow. We would specifically be interested to hear from people with previous experience of working with adults, particularly those who are long term unemployed.

The role will involve:

  • Providing high quality 1:1 diagnostic careers information and guidance work;
  • Planning and delivering group sessions to meet the needs of customers;
  • Completing all relevant documentation to the required standard and within required timescales;
  • Proactively managing own caseload, following up with customers to ensure advice given has made a difference.

 

The post is permanent. The hours of work are 37 per week, however requests for part time hours will also be considered.

 

About You  

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE grade 4 / C or equivalent);
  • The ability to identify, establish and maintain effective working partnerships for the benefit of customers;
  • The ability to keep accurate and up to date records with a good attention to detail. This includes data entry on electronic systems;
  • Good interactive skills and the ability to respond to demanding pressures and to meet deadlines;
  • An ability to work on own initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving.

 

A minimum level 4 NVQ qualification in Careers Information, Advice & Guidance and experience of working in a target driven environment would be an advantage although not essential as training can be provided for the right candidate.

The Role

Our role profile tells the full story, but as an Admin Support you will work as a key member of the team in our busy office in Blackpool, providing highly efficient and administrative support on a range of contracts and projects.

This post is permanent. The hours of work for this position are 37 per week, however requests for part time hours will also be considered.

 

About You  

 You will have:

  • Minimum GCSE grade C or 4/5 in Maths, English and a Computing related subject, together with an NVQ Minimum Level 3 or equivalent in Business Administration;
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Office packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Good communication skills;
  • An understanding of good customer service;
  • A willingness to learn and the ability to handle multiple tasks;
  • An eye for detail when recording information in databases;

The Role

Our role profile tells the full story, but as an Employability Adviser you will proactively manage a caseload of participants by providing a tailored employment support service to individuals to address barriers to gaining new employment with personalised support for individuals to achieve and sustain work, including supported job searching, re-training for a different sector and restoring self-confidence for work. This is done by:

  • Providing high quality 1:1 diagnostic career information and advice work
  • Providing intensive support to participants, motivating and encouraging candidates to overcome any personal barriers to employment and building confidence
  • Working on a 1:1 basis developing comprehensive action plans with individual customers
  • Supporting participants to identify and develop transferable skills and support them in the use of appropriate online resources
  • Planning and delivering group sessions to meet the needs of customers as required
  • Maintaining an awareness and understanding of local labour market and building and maintaining external relationships to help support participants into suitable employment
  • Completing all relevant documentation to the required standard and within required timescales
  • Proactively managing own caseload, following up with customers to ensure advice given has made a difference.
  • Achieving all contractual targets

About You  

Whilst we would be delighted to hear from you if you have previous experience of working in the employability sector, or if you have a level 4 Careers Information Advice and Guidance qualification, we are also interested to hear from people who have worked in other sectors where you’ve relished the opportunity to achieve a personal target whilst excelling at providing outstanding customer service, as training can be provided for the right candidate.  You could have experience working in sectors such as sales, hospitality, retail, travel, education, recruitment or training.

You will be able to demonstrate:
