The Role

As a Facilities Coordinator you will ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our facilities by performing routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, preventative maintenance, and basic health and safety duties to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs of buildings, facilities, equipment, and grounds.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Handle basic maintenance.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment
  • Maintain records of all maintenance and repair work.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address issues as needed.
  • Identify and build relationships with third party contractors where work may need to be outsourced
  • Ensure any third party contractors have the relevant qualifications/health and safety requirements prior to work commencing and monitor this throughout the working relationship
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain clean and safe work areas.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
  • Implement basic health and safety measures to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Attend health and safety consultative group.
  • Maintain and update safety documentation
  • Assist in the implementation of maintenance programs.
  • Support other departments with special projects as required.

 

This is a permanent, part time position.

 

About You  

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar roles
  • A good standard of literacy and numeracy (GCSE grade 4 / C or equivalent);
  • A basic understand of maintenance procedures and practises
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures as well as a basic understanding of health and safety practises and regulations.
  • The ability to keep accurate and up to date records with a good attention to detail to ensure the quality and compliance requirements of health and safety
  • Good interactive skills and the ability to respond to demanding pressures and to meet deadlines;
  • An ability to work on own initiative and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • An ability to travel around our delivery area and transport equipment as required.
