Inspira shortlisted for major social enterprise award.

PrintCumbrian social enterprise Inspira has been selected from social enterprises throughout Merseyside, Manchester, Cheshire, Lancashire and Cumbria as one of the best in the region. Chief Executive of Inspira Mark Bowman says “We’re thrilled to have been shortlisted for the Excellence in Social Enterprise awards 2014.”

Judges shortlisted Inspira for the award on the strength of the company’s performance in 2013.  Despite ongoing reductions in public spending, Inspira managed to diversify and grow its services over the course of the year, establishing itself on the regional stage as a prime contractor for National Citizen Service, attracting new funding streams and contracts in Cumbria and elsewhere in the North West and, on behalf of Sellafield Ltd, developing a groundbreaking employability programme – Ready for Work – that is helping people develop skills and progress into the workplace.

The awards ceremony will be held at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool on the 14th March.
