Official launch of the Cumbria Enterprise Adviser Network to be held on the 1st of November

The event will mark the beginning of the Enterprise Adviser network for Cumbria, part of a wider scheme which has already seen success across the country Printfunded by the Careers Enterprise Company.

Volunteers are drawn from a wide range of local businesses, and each Enterprise Adviser is matched to a specific school, to help support and enrich the career programmes wherever possible; equipping young people with the skills they need to succeed in the future.

Mark Bowman, Chief Executive of Inspira said: “What the network gives is real opportunity for businesses to engage with schools on a strategic level.”

Taking place from 12pm – 3pm at Rheged, the launch event is for interested people to learn more about the project, and is the perfect opportunity to meet the Enterprise Advisers, network with schools, colleges and other key partners and hear from speakers including the Chief Executive of The Careers & Enterprise Company, Claudia Harris, about the impact of the CEC across the country.

It is hoped the project will reduce the number of young people who are NEET, not in employment, education or training.
