Young people set to takeover Advice Services Centre

In order to recognise National Takeover Day this Friday, 15 Furness Academy students have been invited to “takeover” our Furness Advice Services centre.

They will benefit from the experience of a professional environment, and learn more about what goes on at one of our Inspira offices. It will also allow the chance for these young people to work with adults for the day, and to be involved in key decision-making.

Laura Wellington, a National Citizen Service (NCS) Wave Leader, is going to use the day as way of gaining new ideas on the delivery of NCS. Participants are going to be asked about the content and frequency of warm up sessions; what they would like to see included in weeks two and three of NCS, and the use of social and digital media leading up to the start of the programme.

Sarah Williams, Inspira’s Area Manager in Furness, said: “This event is very exciting as it will provide the students with a breadth of knowledge regards Inspira, and, in particular, National Citizen Service. Also, we will pick up lots of suggestions from the students on how we can develop and improve our services.”
