David Leadbetter

Contract Manager

After completing a degree in Politics in Bristol in 1991, David returned to his home county of West Yorkshire and secured employment with NorEast Building Management in Leeds. David arrived in Cumbria in 1994, having completed the Post-Graduate Diploma in Careers Guidance and the British Psychological Society Level A award at the University of Huddersfield.

David initially commenced work as a Careers Adviser with Cumbria Careers Ltd; this was followed by employment with Dumfries and Galloway Careers Service, working as Careers Centre Manager.

David returned to England in 2002, joining Connexions Cumbria Ltd. David’s management experience was enhanced through his work as Team Leader, managing staff delivering universal and targeted services in both Carlisle and Eden Districts. His practical experience was complemented by the acquisition of a range of management and supervisory qualifications. David then became Area Manager of Inspira’s North Area team, with a role including operational and strategic responsibility for Inspira’s delivery of contracts in Carlisle and Eden Districts.

Since October 2013 David has worked as Contract Manager, responsible for managing Inspira’s delivery of the National Careers Service in Cumbria and North Lancashire. David welcomes the opportunity to develop a service that provides adults with the opportunity to experience a high quality information and advice service responsive to individual needs, enabling effective progression into and within employment and learning.
