Board Member

Peter Irving recently retired from business as a Training Consultant  with a specialist background in the construction industry.

He has until recently been the Chairman of Construction Training (Cumbria) Ltd a national exemplar for training groups, which had over thirty Cumbrian member companies. His extensive knowledge of training and education is based on over forty years experience during which he held the posts of Training Manager and Director of Construction at Carlisle College. He was the Chairman of Governors at a local primary school and was a member of the governing body of a local further education college.

As a former County Councillor he was a member of its Education Committee and served as a member of a Government Advisory Panel on Further Education.

On the formation of the LSC he became a member of the local council and was chairman of the Audit Committee before he was approached to join the Connexions Cumbria Ltd Audit Committee. A former Chairman of Cumbria Careers Ltd he was subsequently invited onto the company’s Board of Directors.
